There are a number of programs that offer research opportunities for students:
- Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) creates research partnerships between first and second year students, and faculty, research scientists, and staff from across the University of Michigan community.

Whether or not you qualify for work study, you can contact the Office of Financial Aid to inquire about research positions.

U-M’s Youth Hub website describes a number of summer programs for high school and middle school students. At Michigan Medicine, the Office of Health Equity and Inclusion hosts the annual Youth Summit for middle schoolers, and the Summer Pre-College Exposure Academy for high school students interested in medicine and research. Anyone who is underrepresented in medicine can apply, as well as anyone who would like to work in underserved communities in their future careers.
Unfortunately, we don’t have an organized program for foreign scholars who wish to participate in research at the University of Michigan.
